MEGA 5GB a day download limit is hard when it comes to downloading big files. A couple of downloads lead to the message of Transfer Quota Exceeded, which is very irritating as it compels one to wait several hours. However, there exist workarounds that in fact work.
The truth about the matter is this, MEGA logs downloads IP-addresses within a six-hour time frame. Alter such an identifier and the system sees it as a new connection. Such means abuse such a tracking mechanism.
Using a VPN to Reset Your Download Quota
VPN will hide your real IP address that is passed through encrypted servers in other locations. Each time MEGA identifies a new IP, the quota counter is set to zero.
The process is straightforward:
Install a quality VPN software (a paid one is more efficient than a free one). Before you start downloading MEGA, you should connect to a server overseas. As you start reaching the quota threshold once more, lose contact and get onto a different server point.
Premium VPN services also keep IP rotation dynamic making MEGA not label the most used addresses. Free VPNs also offer limited options of servers and could be blocked with MEGA detection systems.
It is suitable when one wants to download content here and there once in a while. Account monitoring is activated by repeated patterns hence avoid over doing it.
Download Managers that are Proxy Supported.
Such software as JDownloader and MegaBasterd are more technical. They divide huge files into smaller parts and download them using various proxy internet protocols at a time.
MegaBasterd is designed based on MEGA and contains proxy support. It is free and it automatically performs rotations.
Setting up JDownloader:
Install and then open the application, and then go to Settings Connection Manager. Add Proxy addresses working – Add the proxy addresses of sites such as ProxyScrape or Geonode. achieve 20 segment chunk downloads and turn on SmartProxy to automatically rotate.
The program directs every segment using various proxies to ensure that the quota cannot be easily enforced using the systems of MEGA. It involves certain technical expertise but is a more reliable method than an unsophisticated system of VPN switching.
Authentication-based proxies ( username : password ) exist at the ip:port format) are much reliable as compared to free open proxies that constantly become offline.
Router Restart Method
This is least reliable and the easiest methods. It is common with many internet companies to allocate dynamic IP addresses where your IP address changes after a router is rebooted.
Switch off the router, wait 30 seconds and switch it on again. Enter your new IP address and download again.
The catch? IP reassignments do not always happen when starting an ISP. There are those that stay on the same addresses and the newly obtained IP may already have been limited by MEGA. It is effective sometimes but it should not be a major approach.
Cloudflare WARP of Single Downloads.
The WARP application of Cloudflare directs the traffic to the Cloudflare network with encrypted DNS. It is free and lightweight and it evades the quota only once.
Install the WARP app, switch it on and begin to download MEGA. This can be used with individual files less than 10GB, but will not be functional to use in any repetitive manner as MEGA can identify the connection routine.
Consider it as a short-term fix as opposed to a long-term approach.
Understanding the Risks
These loopholes are against the terms of service of MEGA. The platform is one that closely follows circumvention patterns. Suspensions of accounts occur abruptly making the files stored lost.
Malicious programs are contained in tools provided by third parties who are not trustworthy. Free proxy lists are most of the time infected with malicious code. The exposure of security is beyond help when downloading software which is not verified.
In other jurisdictions, the circumvention of technical limits is considered to be illegal access (under computer fraud laws). When this is coupled with the downloading of copyrighted material, the risk of litigation is increased.
MEGA also keeps on updating detection systems. Techniques which might be effective today may not be effective tomorrow when the service closes gaps.

Spacing the downloading at various times space does not violate the six hour reset window but still meets the download targets in the end.
The bottom line: These practices are there and they operate to certain extent, but with actual ramifications. Consider the threats and alternatives that are justified and then continue.
