The anime collab for Fortnite is a little different. My interest about the release of this crossover was first piqued when I saw those leaks, and there was no way in hell that I’d miss them. So here’s all of what there actually is in the game right now, what’s coming next and if you should bother even spending some Vbucks on it.

What’s Already Live (And When It Drops)

The One Punch Man skins arrived on August 27, 2025 and they’re here until September 4. That’s your window, so if you care about this don’t sleep on it.

Epic went all out supporting the new character with three bundles! Of course, Saitama is the star you’ll get the skin along with back bling, two emotes, a pickaxe and glider (another series of drums to drop into battle from above), and a weapon wrap. Genos also includes glow variant (that are genuinely kind of sick), back bling, emote, pickaxe and keytar. Then you have Tatsumaki, along with her accessories and skin, a unique looking microphone instrument.

Here’s the catch: each bundle, on their own, runs about 1500 VBucks but get everything bundled and it ends up being a 3k VBuck spend for the whole kit and caboodle. That’s the play if you want the full set without overpaying.

The cosmetics are solid. It is not one of those slapped-on skins like some collabs. The emotes actively call out the anime (Saitama’s got this glitch thing that is legitimately smart), and the instruments? Those let you flex in the lobby, downtime. And if you like original art variants, well this is legit.

The Real Question: Is It Worth Buying With Your VBucks?

Honestly? Well, it’s what you value. The skin lines do look very clean, especially Saitama. I did check them in game, and they don’t disappear into the background like some cosmetics do – they pop. Genos glow version is a nice touch for players who are looking to stand out.

But there’s a catch: this is cosmetics-only for the moment. You won’t find any of those Mythic items at launch, or weapons and armor that change the way you play. You’re buying looks, not power. Having said that, if you’re someone who actually plays anime skins a lot and not just for novelty once, it all makes sense.

What’s Coming Next (And When to Check Back)

Here is where the plot thickens. Epic isn’t finished with this collab not by a long shot. Look for limited-time challenges dropping soon, likely together with themed quests. Imagine “defeat enemies with Mythic gear” or “visit three anime-influenced POIs.” Those typically award you extra XP and special decals, which are the real reward.

The leaks indicate incoming Mythic items. I mean gear, like a “Serious Punch” melee tool or One Punch Man NPCs around the map with side quests. This would actually change how you play, not just how you look. Oh, and if that number drops? Suddenly this collab is way more worth your time.

Epic’s also suggesting reactive animations Saitama level effects rippling on your skin when you reach eliminations or other milestones. There are also rumors about temporary POIs inspired by City Z from the anime, which have Easter eggs.

How to Really Nail This Collab

Here’s my strategy: First, keep an eye on the official patch notes every week. Epic drops challenge breakdowns there, and you’ll be ahead of the game before anyone else pushes in.

Second, hit up Fortnite. gg for interactive maps. You don’t want to be looking around when themed POIs fall. These maps provide precise locations and times for challenges.

Third, check Reddit early. On communities like r/FortNiteBR and r/OnePunchMan, strategy posts proliferate. Optimal loadouts and route strategies for time-limited tasks get shared by players within hours of a challenge dropping. You save yourself so very much grinding.

The Fortnite Wiki is also good, as it’s got everything in one place for you to cross reference the lists of challenges and community tested methods for completion.

The Bottom Line

When is the Fortnite X One Punch Man skin being released? It already has. If you’re a fan of anime and don’t mind spending on cosmetics, the skins are worth collecting before September 4. But the great twist comes after when Mythic items and challenges are released, this collab changes from just “cool-looking” to filled with cool gameplay things.

Don’t rush. Wait for the full picture. But if you love One Punch Man and want to represent it in-game, now’s your chance to get locked in.
