Pokemon TCG Pocket Psyduck and Torchic Wonder Pick Event: How to Get Everything.

I have been sharpening Wonder Picks3 days in a row. And this is how to get it all without losing your head.

This is until December 7 and, sincerely? It is filled with freebies- promotion cards, cosmetics and Torchic everybody hunted after Mega Blaziken decks. But you must know what you are about, or you will attempt to save Wonder Stamina upon fruitless picks.

This is the specific playbook that I am employing.

How to Tackle All Event Missions

The quickest way to Event Shop tickets is via missions. And I whacked out the greater number of mine on the first two days simply by being tactical.

Start here:

Open any Wonder Pick anytime in the period of event. That preferably is mission number one. Just tap, pick a card, done. You’ll get tickets instantly.

At this point, pay attention to the Fire and Water card collection missions. The game would prefer you to find certain kinds, and so, you should look at the packs containing the Pokemon of Fire or Water first. I smoked through my Pack Hourglasses and was able to smoke the majority of them in one sitting.

Lesson I learnt the hard way: Do not overlook the missions of participating in battles. I passed over them as I thought they would be a never-ending affair, but amateur matches count. Three faster skirmishes, mop up, got another ticket.

The best thing with these missions is that they layer quickly. Beebom provides the breakdown, according to which, the mission-list could be cleared by the majority of players in 3-4 days of regular game. I am on schedule to complete mine by the end of the fifth day without spending any single PokeGold.

How to Maximize Wonder Picks (Without Wasting Stamina)

This is where they all get their heads crossed- they use their Wonder Stamina on every pick that comes along. Don’t do that.

In this event, three kinds of picks exist:

Bonus Picks (Free): The spawn rate of these is a 20% chance after every half an hour. They are free stamina and a single promo card, as well as ticket and hour glasses. On these, I check my phone after every half an hour. Set a timer if you have to.

Chansey Picks (Premium): They are spawned with a very low rate; a 2.5 percent, but guaranteed five promo cards either Psyduck or Torchic. These are expensive to Wonder Stamina, thus you should only use your Wonder Hourglasses when chansey appears. I have already been to two Chansey picks and both times I was prepared to lose stamina. Worth it.

Routine Wonder Picks: Leave these slot out in the event unless you have a dire need of a particular card in another deck. Better expended in other ways.

My plan: Not less than 2 Wonder Stamina Hello: I have at least 24 Wonder Hourglasses banked. I am prepared when a Chansey Pick comes about. When it does not I hit every Bonus Pick that appears.

The Pokemon Zone guide suggests to check in after every 30 minutes, so that both types of spawn can be maximized. It is boring, however, when you wish to have the promo cards and the entire cosmetics, this is what you grind.

How to Get Free Rewards on the Event Shop.

Event Shop Tickets grow like weeds when you are on missions and Bonus Pick missions. Here’s how I’m spending mine:

Priority 1: Take the Exchange Tickets of Promo Card. And even when your luck of the Wonder Pick is dreadful (my own has not been very good), these tickets assure you of being able to capture one Psyduck and one Torchic. That’s your safety net.

priority 2: Cosmetics. The event shop consists of Psyduck-themed and seasonal exclusive sleeves, playmats, backgrounds. The initial toy that I chose is the Psyduck playmat due to its temporary availability.

Plan ahead: There is a limit to Shinedust conversion and that is why you need to plan out what you really want and the amounts to spend. I created a haste list of must and nice-to-have. Given the priority, must-haves have to fulfill their needs, and assuming I have any added tickets on December 6, I will take the extras.

You do not have to spend actual money here. I have not spent even a single dollar and I am already on my way to receive both promotional cards as well as at least four cosmetic products by the time the event concludes.

FAQs

Is it possible to obtain Torchic without money?

Yes. Torchic appears in both Bonus Pics and Chansey Pics as well as in the Event Shop where Promo Card Exchange Tickets can be exchanged into Torchic as well. I won mine on the second day as a Bonus Pick–in the form of a freebie. The exchange ticket will ensure that you at least get a copy even in case your fortune and luck are against you.

What happens if I miss a Chansey Pick?

Nothing permanent. Chansey Picks appear randomly during the event and occur in 2.5 percent after every 30 minutes. In case you pass it, you might as well be checking again. Also, the Promo Card Exchange Tickets you acquire do not guarantee you not to get locked out of rewards even when you do not see any Chansey Pick spawn. I missed the first one as I had a meeting and I managed to get both promotional cards by the end of the third day.

In conclusion: it is much more F2P-friendly than the previous events. Follow the Bonus Picks, conserve energy to Chansey, accomplish missions in the beginning and you will take home with you all that is important. Three days and half-way you’re okay.
